How do you cope up when the situation seems to be negative around you or the people isn't being supportive of your dreams? Ever wondered why some of us have a tendency to give up? When we don't have the strong support system or someone who can help us understand in our journey it is easy to give up. Often people go through depression and suicidal tendencies when their dreams are not achieved or they are undergoing break up over a relationship. It can be any scenario so as to say something that hasn't met your desires or you feel let down by financial pressures. The reasons are many for a person to sink in depression.
In this article, I am suggesting few tips that can help you overcome your depression and fight this battle
1. Seek support- Need the comfort of someone to understand what you are feeling, share your feelings with people who are close to you. Doesn't necessarily have to be a bunch of friends but even that one person you can count on. Be it your family member, friend or lover. Just anybody close to you that you instinctively feel can understand your pain. If you don't have that consider seeking a support by reaching out to counsellor.
It isn't a shame to reveal your pain and trauma you have undergone. Once it is expressed, you feel so much lighter and at ease. Not to mention, you can remove your past hurts, guilt or any baggage you carrying along.
2. Journaling- Are you one of those who like to pin down your thoughts? Well, consider journaling your thoughts in a diary. If you don't have one, get one. I would strongly recommend to do this as it would help you in clearing off your emotions and stuff that you been holding onto for so long.
3. Music- You need to cheer up your mood, don't you? Think about listening to music that makes you happy, and peps you up. It is necessary to rejuvenate your mind in order to conquer your depression. Thus, a music is something you would like to add to your list.
Some of these tips are proven to be helpful for many people and I would suggest try and see it works for you!
